Located in Nepal's Gorkha District and rising 8,163 meters, Mt. Manaslu lies just east of the famed Annapurna Region and shares a border with its northern neighbor, Tibet. Opened to trekkers recently, Manasalu's unsurpassed beauty and rich cultural traditions offer the dedicated trekker a genuine adventure. Manaslu of the 28 Himalayan ranges of Nepal, Manasalu Himalaya is in the 12th Position. It is located in between Budi Gandaki River in the east, Dudh Khola a tributary of Marsyangdi River in the west, Larke la (pass) in the North and Rupina La in the south. Most of the mountain ranges in Nepal follow east-west course but Manasalu extends in the north – south direction within a single system, this range houses 40 peaks above 5500m. The highest peak of the range is Manasalu (98, 163m). Manaslu, peak 29 and Himalchuli have approximately similar shape. Therefore, from a distance, it is difficult to identify Manaslu at a glance.
